PORTLAND – A magnitude 2.8 earthquake hit near Vancouver, Wash. around 4:25 p.m. Sunday, according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.
The earthquake only lasted a few seconds, but many in the Portland metro area still felt the ground shake.
Some KGW fans on Facebook reported feeling the earthquake up in Vancouver.
“Felt it here in Vancouver…thought my neighbor dropped something on the floor,” one person said.
“Felt some minor stuff in St. Helens, figured it was just some 'boom car' that I didn't hear,” another person wrote.
KGW’s Tim Gordon said in a tweet that his whole family felt the quake in southwest Washington.
