USK, Wash. -- Authorities arrested a Cusick couple accused of burglarizing eight homes near Usk.

On Wednesday, Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Open Skies Road south of Usk to investigate multiple burglaries. Deputies found eight houses were broken into, and thousands of dollars worth of property was stolen.

Detectives pinpointed 25-year-old James Nenema and his girlfriend 25-year-old Sarah Lucier, who live nearby.

On Thursday, deputies served a search warrant on the couple’s house and found Lucier hidden in a crawl space. Authorities say they also recovered a large cache of stolen items including power tools, furniture, TVs, electronics, decorations and other household items.

Nenema and Lucier were arrested for Residential Burglary and Theft.
