EAGLE -- Ada County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a crash at the intersection of State Highway 16 and Floating Feather Road that seriously injured three people Monday evening.
Emergency crews were called to the two-car accident around 6:45 p.m.
Deputies say a 50-year-old Emmett woman was heading north on Highway 16 in a Jeep Grand Cherokee when she collided with a Honda Accord driven by a 16-year-old from Star going westbound on Floating Feather Road.
The vehicles crashed in the intersection.
Authorities say the accident left the 50-year-old woman in serious condition. She was flown via air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. The teen and her 16-year-old male passenger were transported by ambulance on the ground.
Their injuries are described as critical and "life threatening."
Highway 16 was closed in both directions until 11:45 p.m. as authorities investigated the accident. The details of the investigation will be turned over to Ada County Prosecutor's Office to determine if any citations or charges will be filed.
