GARDEN CITY -- Dozens of kids throughout Ada County now have a new place to learn.
The education center at the Boys and Girls Club in Garden City was recently remodeled and will be officially reopened tonight.
It took more than $30,000 to make the space more functional, but it cost the Boys and Girls Club absolutely nothing. That's because a local organization stepped up to make the space more user friendly for the kids.
About 50 kids come here to do their homework and get tutored by volunteers.
Executive Director Colleen Braga says it's an amazing donation to those who need it most.
"To know that these people not only gave of their heart, but opened their wallet for less fortunate kids in our community, is really humbling and inspiring to me," said Braga.
The group that made the renovation possible is the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.
Members raised thousands for the project, then donated their time, materials, and labor to make it all possible.
There will be an official grand reopening event tonight from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the facility.
