RATHDRUM, Idaho--Authorities in two states and the FBI are on the hunt for a man accused of shooting at a member of the Idaho State Police.

Mitchell Lee Walck’s crime spree began in Rathdrum with a high speed chase, a shooting, and a kidnapping.

The woman he's accused of kidnapping is safe.  Susan Smith is on her way back from Montana, where her alleged kidnapper let her go.  Walck is accused of taking Smith and her Subaru from her home Saturday evening.

That's the same day Walck allegedly shot at police after a chase through the area early that morning.  Deputies say Walck forced Smith into her own home and held her at gunpoint for hours.  Eventually they left for Montana after investigators had left the area.

Then on Sunday, Susan was able to call a family member and get help after her alleged kidnapper let her go in Glendive, Montana.  That's almost 750 miles from Rathdrum.

Susan wasn’t hurt in the ordeal.  Walck remains at-large.
