SEATTLE- After a week of technical glitches, the Westlake Center tree started to flicker to life Friday night as technicians worked out the problem which has robbed the glitz from the center piece of the Downtown Seattle holiday shopping experience.
The tree, a high tech music and light “experience” worked at its debut at the annual tree lighting ceremony the day after Thanksgiving. Since then, it’s been a holiday bummer.
On its website, the shopping mall said it hoped to have the tree back in operation shortly.
While disappointed, soggy shoppers seemed more concerned with dodging the rain Friday night than the darkened tree.
