BOISE -- Police say two young thieves and their drunk getaway driver are in jail after someone reported seeing them breaking into cars early Friday morning.

Chase B. Erickson, and Dylan C. Reeder -- both 21-years-old from Eagle -- are charged with felony burglary in the incident.

Samuel J. Terry, 21, of Starr is charged with felony burglary, felony DUI, and probation violation.

Authorities say a witness spotted the trio trying to break into cars in a parking lot near South Latah and West Alpine streets at approximately 3 a.m.

However, when police arrived, the alleged burglars had made a getaway -- but not for long.

Police say officers responding to another report of a vehicle burglary near the 800 block of Maple Grove Road located Erickson, Reeder, and Terry.

They say the suspects' vehicle matched a "detailed" description given by the witness.

Police also say a quick check of the vehicle revealed numerous stolen items -- and that 21-year-old Samuel Terry failed several field sobriety tests and appeared to be driving drunk.

Erickson, Reeder, and Terry are currently in the Ada County Jail.
