BOISE -- We think you'll want to watch this film again and again.

Idaho, the Movie airs on Friday, and promises to showcase the Gem State like it's never been seen before.

That's because Idaho's most famous natural scenery, beautiful animals, quizzical characters, and notable landmarks will be shown in high definition on KTVB.

The film's writer / narrator Tim Woodward is a seasoned journalist who's roved the state for the past 40 years writing weekly columns for the Idaho Statesman.

Woodward's documentary offers a one-hour tour de force of Idaho, featuring its "well known and hidden treasures."

Here's a quick list of the places Idaho, the Movie spotlights:

  • Stanley, Idaho and the Sawtooth Mountains
  • The Bruneau Dunes
  • Lake Pend Oreille
  • Shoshone Falls
  • Craters of the Moon
  • Henry's Fork and Mesa Falls

What's more, the film's production crew also brings a wealth of experience to the project. Tom Hadzor and Jennifer Isenhart of Wide Eye Productions are both former KTVB photojournalists. Both work with some of the most advanced filmmaking equipment used today.

That equipment includes a 4K Red "Epic Camera," that shoots in double the resolution of standard high definition. The team also used lightweight digital SLR cameras when traveling to more remote locations. The result is a HD "Planet Earth" experience, according to the film's website.

The best part? You can get this experience for FREE on KTVB 7.1 and Idaho's Very Own 24/7.
