MERIDIAN -- The Powerball jackpot is now at a record high of $500 million, and thousands of Idahoans are hoping they will have the lucky ticket. Some Treasure Valley stores sold hundreds of tickets on Tuesday, the day before the drawing.
Idahoans are statistically lucky lottery players, especially when it comes to Powerball, according to state lottery officials.
"We've had a lot of jackpot winners in the state of Idaho on Powerball over the years. We've had seven [winners] since the game began and since the lottery started here," David Workman, Idaho Lottery, said.
The last two Idaho Powerball jackpot winners both picked their own numbers and both bought their tickets at the Jackson's on Orchard at I-84. KTVB analyzed three years of lottery data, from July 2009-June 2012 to see where the high dollar lottery tickets have been sold in the Treasure Valley.
The most winning high-dollar prize store recently is the Fred Meyer at Overland and Five Mile. Below, you'll find an interactive map of Treasure Valley retailers that have sold tickets with prizes of $200,000 or more in the last three fiscal years.

No matter where players buy tickets, lottery officials encourage people to have fun, but play responsibly.
"When jackpots get this big, sometimes there's a tendency to go a little bit overboard, but we want to make sure people play what they can afford for this big jackpot." Workman said.
