BOISE -- Boise State University unveiled a new logo Tuesday featuring a bold, blue letter "B" meant for use in both academics and athletics.
University officials announced the rebranding on Twitter, tweeting "The forward-moving B demonstrates our personality traits of determination, strength, character and community."
Despite the update, officials say the logo won't replace the Boise State Broncos signature bronco graphic currently displayed on team uniforms, fan apparrel, and signs.
In a news release, university officials said BSU collaborated with Nike to create the new multipurpose logo, saying they believe it will bring a "consistent visual identity program for the academic and athletic departments."
The B replaces the diamond logo, which was launched in 2001 and has served as the university’s academic mark.
