SPOKANE -- Spokane Police investigators are working to determine if a deadly stabbing was a case of self defense.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing Saturday just before midnight near Kehoe Park. When police arrived, they found 25-year-old Robert Henry Fletcher with multiple stab wounds.

Fletcher was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses help police develop a description of the suspect, who officers located in the area. Police say that person may have been defending himself so they are not releasing his name.

Court records show Fletcher has a criminal history that includes hit and run, possession of a stolen vehicle, and drug possession.
