A mother of four who was shot when she answered the door of her Shelton home last Wednesday morning was identified as Barbara Michelle Giles.
Giles, 30, died at St. Peter Hospital. The Mason County Sheriff's Office said the case is now a homicide investigation.
The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 21 when Giles answered the door at her home on East Tyler Lane, according to Chief Deputy Dean Byrd.
When the woman opened the door, the suspects opened fire.
Two witnesses inside of the house barricaded themselves in the rear of the house and were not injured.
No description is available on the male suspect, who is considered to be armed and dangerous.
