SEATTLE -- The Macy's holiday parade took place in the central area of downtown Seattle on Friday morning.
Crowds braved the rain to line the streets for the parade, which featured 650 costumed volunteers and 25 inflatable floats, plus dancers, local high school marching bands and sports teams.
The parade began at 9 a.m. at Seventh Avenue and Pine Street.
The floats have been assembled for the past week inside the Washington State Convention Center. A few of the floats were part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York last year.
A float featuring Santa marked the end of the parade.
