PORTLAND -- A helicopter made an emergency landing Thursday morning at Robert Gray Middle School in Southwest Portland, emergency dispatchers told KGW.

A school official also confirmed the emergency landing. Calls to 911 were made from the school about 10:07 a.m.

No one was injured, said Sgt. Pete Simpson of the Portland Police Bureau.

The training helicopter was from Hillsboro Aviation. The pilot and co-pilot both noticed an engine warning light had come on and decided to land on the baseball field, Simpson said.

This is the second time in two years that an aircraft has made a forced landing at the school at 5505 SW 23rd Avenue.

A small plane crash-landed at the school in October 2010 after running out of fuel. The pilot was not hurt.
