KALAMA, Wash. – Police took into custody a man they considered armed and dangerous in Kalama Wednesday.

A manhunt for 29-year-old Erik Johnson locked down schools throughout the afternoon. He was not armed when he was peacefully taken into custody near the Kalama marina, police said.

Investigators were responding to some sort of disturbance with a gun just before 1 p.m. Deputies said he had fled on a bicycle.

Johnson approached two women and threatened to kill them, according to the Longview Daily News.

Police surrounded a house on North 4th Street at one point, but did not find him until around 5 p.m. No charges were announced.
