SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Hundreds gathered this weekend in Spokane Valley’s Mirabeu Park to fight Alzheimer's disease.
Even KREM 2’s Randy Shaw was on hand to emcee the annual Memory Walk.
Teams and individuals walk to raise money for research. Participants say it allows people who are battling the disease to come together.
“I have it. My mother had it, and now it touches my life because I’ve met so many terrific new friends that have it, or are caring for people with it,” walker Amy Shives said.
A record number of walkers took part this year, and organizers say they raised a record amount of money.
