SEATTLE - Seattle police want help from the public to locate Shaka Shomari Barquet, 25. Detectives have linked Barquet to four burglaries that happened last month.

"He goes into the homesat night when people are sleeping. It's very creepy," said Sgt. Sean Whitcomb, SPD spokesperson.

Ann Marvin and Steven Swindall found out their Seattle home had been burglarized while they were sleeping inside. On August 21, Swindall woke up to find the front door open.

"One of our computers was missing off the table, her purse was missing, my wallet, her cell phone," said Swindall.

Detectives were able to find some of the couple's belongings, but the search continues for the suspect.

"You can't take for granted that you are safe in your own home," said Marvin.

Detectives said the burglar targeted homes in four locations: the 2100 block of East Pine Street, the 2500 block of East Galer Street, the 400 block of NE 88th Street, and the 1300 block of 14th Avenue South.  Police said the suspect has stolen jewelry, electronics, and wallets. Additionally, he has committed identity theft and fraud, using credit cards stolen during the burglaries, according to SPD.

Barquet has ties to South Seattle, Federal Way, and Renton. Police said Barquet has previously been convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm and is believed to be armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information about this suspect or who may know his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately or Seattle Police Burglary Detective Mel Britt at (206) 684-5713 and refer to this case.  Anonymous tips are welcome.
