Waste Management workers are working to catch up on garbage and recycling pickups after Thursday’s settlement ended a week-long Teamsters strike.

Customers in Seattle with regularly scheduled Wednesday pickup who were missed this week are asked to leave their garbage carts out until 6 p.m. Saturday for collection. Customers won’t be charged extra for any additional items placed at the curb.

Customers with missed collections are asked to report it on their website.

For Friday customers, Waste Management expects carts to be collected as scheduled. If they’re missed, customers should also leave carts out until 6 p.m. Saturday.

Most Thursday recycling pickups were missed. Customers with Thursday pickups should put out their recycling next Thursday, August 9.

Customers affected by the strike can still drop off 6 bags of either garbage or yard waste at Seattle’s North and South transfer stations for free, through this weekend.

Hours have been extended through Friday at the South Transfer Station: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For more information, go to the Seattle Public Utilities website.
