SEATTLE -- It is the latest scene in a Seattle success story. A movie about soccer broke a box-office record.
On Wednesday, Seattle's Cinerama showed the official premiere of "American Football," a film which chronicles the Seattle Sounders franchise.
The Cinerama says the film sold out in less than 20 minutes when tickets when on sale several weeks ago.
Scott Levy spent a year and a half following the team, and fans, around the country.
"I put a lot of time into it for sure, and it required that for sure," said Levy. "Hopefully, I've done it justice."
The Sounders cooperated in the filming of the documentary. Head coach Sigi Schmid, and owner Adrian Hanauer were both in attendance.
There are two other screenings scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
