Patrol units and detectives responded to the Kingsgate Safeway on Wednesday afternoon on a possible assault and kidnap that started in Renton.

Just before 3 p.m. 911 calls came in about an alleged domestic violence incident that started in Renton.

Police say a woman told them her boyfriend assaulted her and she was brought against her will to the Safeway in Kirkland.

But while in the store she managed to separate from the boyfriend. She called 911 and a manager at the store also talked with police.

By the time the officers arrived the boyfriend had left in the beige 2000 Honda Accord. The suspect is described as being a Hispanic man, 25-30 years old with an average build.

The woman was taken to Evergreen Hospital to be checked out and detectives were interviewing her.

Lt. Mike Murray with Kirkland Police said as a precaution, Renton police were notified because the victim's children attend a daycare in Renton.  Security measures have been taken at the facility in case the suspect might be headed there.
