Pilots offered flights around the area in the B-17 Flying Fortress. People like Vietnam Veteran Gary Barnes waited for their chance to ride in the historic plane.

The Liberty Foundation’s 2013 Salute to Veterans tour arrived in Spokane on Monday. The tour is the first for “Memphis Belle” according to organizers. The tour celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Memphis Belle's historic last mission.
