Historic B-17 draws Felts Field crowd

SPOKANE, Wash. -- A Word War II icon stopped in Spokane over the weekend. Generations of people packed Felts Field on Saturday to see an historic B-17 the "Memphis Belle."
 
Pilots offered flights around the area in the B-17 Flying Fortress.  People like Vietnam Veteran Gary Barnes waited for their chance to ride in the historic plane.
 
"I've put it off for 30 years," said Barnes, "I've been wanting to do it for 20 years and have four uncles that served in World War II."
 
The Liberty Foundation’s 2013 Salute to Veterans tour arrived in Spokane on Monday. The tour is the first for “Memphis Belle” according to organizers. The tour celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Memphis Belle's historic last mission.
