SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who robbed an espresso stand on E. Sprague Monday afternoon.

Deputies responded to Dunk’s Espresso in the 16900 block of E. Sprague around 3:00  p.m.

The barista who was robbed told deputies a white truck pulled up to the window. When she opened the window to take the customer’s coffee order, a man told her he wanted money from the cash register. She hesitated and replied there wasn’t any cash.

The man showed her a gun, and the barista removed the cash and handed it to him. The man reportedly sped off eastbound on Sprague.

The victim described the suspect as a man in his 30’s, possibly Hispanic with short black hair and few days’ worth of short stubble on his face. She also stated the man spoke with a Hispanic accent and was alone in the vehicle.

She described the vehicle as an “older” white, single cab truck in poor condition and she believes it was a 2WD since it sat lower to the ground than most 4WDs.  She believes the truck had black lettering on the tailgate and thinks it said Nissan but again she was not positive.

Several deputies searched the area but the suspect and vehicle were not located.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
