A teacher at Tenino Elementary school faces federal charges of possession of child pornography.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Seattle said James Donald Mobley, 46, was arrested Wednesday.
The arrest happened due to an investigation by the U.S. Postal Service, which was looking into an international company that distributed child porn via mail and Internet. The U.S. Attorney’s office said it uncovered records that showed Mobley had purchased child pornography from the company between February 2009 and January 2011.
Prosecutors said law enforcement found DVDs of child pornography in Mobley’s home. They also seized a computer hard drive.
Mobley is a volunteer with the Boy Scouts and a private tutor, according to prosecutors.
Parents who are concerned about contact their children may have had with Mobley are asked to call Tenino Police at (360) 264-2626.
