Was a Washington State University student athlete abused by a coach? The high level investigation may be close to wrapping up.

The WSU football team is wrapping its last practice of the week at Martin Stadium in Pullman, but the investigation into those practice habits is still ongoing, one that's reached the top level of WSU.

Former wise receiver Marquess Wilson accused head coach Mike Leach and his staff of physical and verbal abuse and abruptly quit the team.

WSU President Elson Floyd ordered an investigation and another yet from the Pac 12.

Athletic Director Bill Moos won't comment on the status investigation.

The case has put the school and Leach onto a national stage, and students and faculty know the stakes are high.

"There are two ways to look at it," said Tommy Leggets, WSU senior. "You never want to have negative things happen to your school or thought of in a negative light, but with how bad the team has been, there is a saying that any publicity  is good publicity and the name is getting out there."

There was talk that potentially the investigation could be finished by the end of the week.

Leach is expected to address the issue and more in his weekly coaches show Thursday night in Pullman.
