Heavy rain has prompted flood warnings for several Western Washington rivers and caused mudslides.
Saturday was the second day of one inch or greater rainfall at Seattle-Tacoma airport this month. It’s only the fourth time that there have been two one-inch-plus rain days in the month of March at Sea-Tac.
Tumwater had 2.42 inches of rain, Morton 2.40 inches and Naselle 2.39 inches. Check Futurecast
The heavy rain has prompted flood warnings for several Western Washington rivers:
- The Skokomish at Potlatch
- Stillaguamish at Arlington
- Cowlitz at Randle
- Tolt at Carnation
- Snoqualmie at Snoqualmie and Carnation
- Skykomish at Gold Bar and Puyallup
The rivers will crest Sunday afternoon then start to recede. County-by-county road closures
A mudslide in Des Moines rolled down into a parking lot at an apartment complex along 6th Place South on Saturday.
People who live nearby say several cars were in the path of the mudslide. No one was hurt.
Another slide came down on southbound US 101 near Hoodsport.
The rain is expected to taper off and on Sunday and Monday we’ll see some sun breaks with a stretch of dry days with partly sunny skies beginning on Tuesday.
