LINCOLN COUNTY—Lightning sparked a massive wildfire last Thursday just off Interstate 90 in Lincoln County.
Fire crews said high wind fueled the flames because what initially was a 100 acre fire grew to roughly 500 acres. Crews managed to get a handle on the fire overnight and stopped in from spreading.
Early Friday, crews were still on scene keeping an eye on hot spots and watching for flare-ups. However, most crews were let go.
