Yakima County Sheriff's dispatch said late Tuesday that a Seattle-area doctor who was missing on Mount Adams has been found alive and safe.
Searchers were bringing Dr. Peter Baciewicz, a cardiologist at Seattle's Polyclinic, down the mountain.
The 55-year-old doctor disappeared during a hike and ski trip with a friend on Sunday, said the Yakima County Sheriff's Department. Baciewicz was described as an experienced climber.
Rescue teams focused their search on the southeast quadrant of Mount Adams, where there's still about four feet of snow in areas.
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly identified Dr. Baciewicz's employer. This version has been corrected.
