The fireworks spectacle is over, but the trash left behind at Seattle's Gas Works Park is a sight to be seen.
Leftover food scraps, heaps of garbage bags and a myriad of other trash litters the park Thursday where thousands watched the Family 4th Lake Union fireworks.
Starbucks, who put the on the show, is hoping volunteers will help clean all of the trash as part of their third annual 5th of July cleanup.
Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. at Gas Works Park (North Lake Union) and the Center for Wooden Boats (South Lake Union). Starbucks will be giving away free coffee, pastries and t-shirts to anyone who wants to pitch in.
Last year, the 700 people who volunteered for the clean up gathered more than three tons of trash and recycling.
