SPOKANE -- Burglars have broken into Spokanimal for the third time in less than two weeks.

Staff believes the latest burglary happened early Thursday morning.  The staff says thieves stole another computer.  Computers had been stolen in the previous two break-ins.

This time around, the thieves threw a rock into a window, shattering the glass.  They ripped off the screen to get inside.

Spokanimal employees say frustrated and disheartened.  First they thought the break-ins may be an inside job.  But after the second burglary, they believe it may be an upset pet owner who left their office in shambles.

Earlier this week, Spokanimal told KREM 2 News they were in the process of getting bars put on windows to keep people out overnight.  They were also looking to hire a security guard.

After this rash of break-ins, Certified Security Systems is installing an alarm system at no cost.  The company is also giving Spokanimal a year of free monitoring.

Spokanimal employees say the thieves have stolen more than $7,000 in electronics.  The latest computer nabbed did not have any important documents on it.

Spokanimal is a non-profit pet shelter and adoption center located at 710 North Napa in East Central Spokane.
