THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. – A Yelm man has been arrested for vehicular assault after a motorcyclist was hit and seriously injured.

The State Patrol says 46-year-old James J. Stilton of Yelm was riding a 1997 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Vail Road in Thurston County and began to slow in the roadway to make a left turn onto Hannus Rd.

Troopers say the 26-year-old Yelm man was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram pick-up northbound behind Stilton.  He failed to stop and struck Stilton from behind.

Stilton was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The driver of the pick-up was arrested and booked into Thurston County Jail.
