EVERETT, Wash. -- A couple and their son headed to dinner Wednesday night took a wrong turn and ended up in Puget Sound.

“I was coming around the corner here and saw the car in the water,” said Port of Everett security guard Ed Graves. What he saw next stunned him even more -- a second car slide into the sound.

"It was very surprising. Not something you would expect to see,” Graves said.

Everett police say the couple was headed to dinner at Anthony's Restaurant near 1000 Marine View Drive and their son was following in another vehicle. The couple made a wrong road that lead them onto a boat ramp and their car went into the water. The couple's son followed onto the boat ramp and his vehicle also slid into the water.

“He was just distracted by seeing his parents by the time he came up here the vehicle was almost completely underwater,” Graves said.

No one was hurt, but the couple was transported to the hospital to be checked over.

Both the van and the Lexus SUV were pulled from the water.
