Friends and family members gathered Wednesday at a Kirkland church parking lot to remember 28-year-old mother of four Amy Hargrove.

Hargrove was found strangled last Monday morning in her mother's home.

Police are investigating her ex-boyfriend, Burrel Cushman. The two have a 3-year-old.

For years, Hargrove said she feared for her life, trapped in a domestic violence situation with Cushman.

In a 2012 petition for the restraining order she said, "A piece of paper isn't going to save my life when he finally gets me, but at least you know who killed me."

At the vigil Wednesday, long time friend Allan Burton said, "I knew that she feared him. That wasn’t a secret.  To be out on the streets like that, I don’t understand it.  I don’t understand how this person isn’t in jail.  This can’t be left undone."

Close friend, Molly Smith, pleaded for closure, "Anybody who knows anything about this murder needs to come forward and if you don’t, you’re just as guilty as whoever strangled her."
