The Seattle Fire Department responded Wednesday morning to a fire at a house in the 5800 block of Seward Park Ave. S.

No one was inside the house at the time of the fire. Police said the home contained a marijuana grow operation. SPD said 200 marijuana plants were recovered from the house.

SPD officers called to the scene noticed suspicious wiring at the home; grow operations require large amounts of power, and many growers illegally tap into power lines to avoid running up large bills on electric meters.
