A Seattle University student was stabbed in the chest early Wednesday morning on the school's campus during a robbery attempt. The victim was sent to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Three suspects have been arrested for assault and robbery.

Seattle Police said the victim, a 23-year-old male, noticed that he was being followed at around 1 a.m. The suspects -- a 15-year-old boy, a 23-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl --  approached him from behind, punched him to the ground and began going through his pockets. The victim saw one suspect pull out a knife.

When the suspects fled, the victim used a campus emergency kiosk to call Seattle University Security officers, who arrived promptly and called 911.

The victim did not realize he had been stabbed until he was being treated by the Seattle Fire Department.

Seattle Police found the suspects hiding a few blocks away and arrested all three after the victim positively identified them.

Seattle U says an officer was quick to respond - because he was on a Segway.

The two younger suspects were booked into the Youth Services Center, and the 23-year-old suspect was sent to the King County Jail to be investigated for robbery.
