RENTON, Wash. -- A man was critically wounded by three men who broke into his home early Friday near Renton.

The shooting happened at a mobile home on 196th Avenue SE and SE 184th Street, between Renton and Maple Valley.

The King County sheriff's office says a 27-year-old male resident was shot 6-7 times but is expected to survive after surgery at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

"Apparently he was in bed. His roommate was asleep on the couch in the living room," said Marcus Williams, King County sheriff's office. "When heard the commotion, he walked down the hallway. As he walked into the living room, he was shot."

The three intruders fled. A woman in the home was not hurt.

Detectives are still investigating the scene and looking for the three suspects. They do not believe it was a random crime, but they still need to talk to the victim.
