SEATTLE – The King County Prosecutors Office has finished reviewing an alleged rape case against a "prominent" University of Washington men's basketball player.
Authorities said they reviewed the case earlier this week but a decision about possible charges are not likely to come until next week.
The current UW student and basketball player was accused of rape by a 16-year-old girl earlier this month.
According to the girl's family members, the pair began talking through Facebook and met at a McDonalds restaurant.
From there, they stopped at a liquor store and went to an apartment where the alleged incident took place, said family members.
After the police investigation was opened, UW head basketball coach Lorenzo Romar said there was not enough evidence to act on the allegations.
