WINLOCK, Wash. - The U.S. Postmaster from Winlock could face federal charges after police said he responded to a sex-related ad on Craigslist.

Lewis County detectives said Kenneth Goodwin communicated with them regarding an ad offering sex with a 33-year-old woman and her 13-year-old sister.

Male detectives were posing as the sisters.

Investigators said Goodwin was sending e-mails to detectives from the computer at the Winlock post office.

Federal investigators have seized Goodwin's computer, according to Lewis County Prosecutor Michael Golden.

"He will be charged," said Golden, whose investigators are trying to determine how serious a crime Goodwin committed.

Goodwin has been the Postmaster in Winlock since 2002. He began his career with the post office in June of 1989.

A spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service said Goodwin has been placed on un-paid leave during the police investigation.

Goodwin's arrest was the second in less than a week for the Lewis County detectives who put the ad on Craigslist earlier this month. Last week a registered sex offender from Lewis County, Michael Eplett, was charged with attempted rape of a child after detectives said he agreed to have sex with the 13-year-old girl.

Detectives said they received more than 150 e-mails from people interested in the sister's advertisement.

"We had several hits in the first 30 minutes," said Lewis County Commander Steve Aust.
