Normandy Park Police are investigating the first homicide in their town since the 1980's.
A fatal shooting on Saturday afternoon left one man dead in his home along the 18500 block of Normandy Terrace SW.
Neighbors say an elderly man lived there with 24-hour care and had a granddaughter in her 20's visiting.
"I was just riding my bike and i just see this woman running towards me bloody and screaming," said Ronan Bishop, 9.
"She was screaming for help and asking if her ear was coming off. She then said, ‘I was attacked by a man named Shane Chamberlain with a crowbar,’” Bishop added.
The woman said her attacker was staying with her grandfather who lived a few doors down. She said the attack came out of the blue. She said she tried to fend off Chamberlain with a chair before running.
Minutes later Police arrived to her grandfather's house and found the man in his late 90's, shot to death. Officers arrested Chamberlain, booking him on suspicion of homicide and assault.
Neighbors said the victim installed Seattle's first cable TV network and was living with 24 hour caregivers.
Police will still not confirm the identities of the victims or the condition of the granddaughter in the hospital.
