SEATTLE – Puget Sound Energy is in trouble with the State of Washington for the way it handled customers whose service was cut off for non-payment.
The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission has fined the utility more than $104,000.
State regulators say PSE violated state consumer protection rules more than 1,000 times, giving customers inaccurate or misleading information on ways to pay in order to get their electricity or natural gas service restored.
