SEATTLE -- A spokesman for King County Metro says one of its transit buses got into the I-5 express lanes in Seattle headed the wrong way on Wednesday afternoon.
Spokesman Jeff Switzer says no one was hurt.
The Seattle Times reports that State Patrol spokesman Chris Webb says the driver was heading south when the lanes had been opened for traffic in the northbound direction.
The Metro spokesman says the driver entered the roadway at the Northgate Transit Center just at the time when the north/south lanes switch direction.
Metro is investigating what caused the Route 41 driver to do that. Switzer calls it a "very, very serious safety infraction."
