PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. – Jefferson county Sheriff’s deputies are investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide at a condominium near Sequim.
Firefighters responded Wednesday night at around 10 p.m. to reports of a murder-suicide attempt at the WorldMark Resort Condominiums at Discovery Bay.
A Jefferson County dispatcher says they received a call from a woman who said she shot her husband and was about to shoot herself.
A spokesman with the Port Townsend Fire Department says firefighters entered the home and found a man and a woman, both in their 60s, alive with gunshot wounds to the chest.
Police identified the victims as 74-year-old Leron C. Carroll and 70-year-old Evelyn Carroll, husband and wife, from La Grande, Washington.
The Port Townsend Leader reports both people were confirmed deceased by Jefferson County Sheriff's Sgt. Andy Pernsteiner.
