Five rescued when boat sinks near Mercer Island

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. - Five people had to be rescued Saturday night after their boat sank near Mercer Island.

Witnesses say the sailboat went down fast about 500 feet from shore.

Several people went out in small boats and jet skis to help get people to safety on a private dock.

Three of the people on the boat had minor injuries.
