FERNDALE, Wash.  - The Ferndale District School Board votes Monday on an agreement to end a teacher's strike and have kids start school on Tuesday.

The three-year contract was unanimously approved by the teachers' union on Saturday. Classes were canceled Wednesday, Thursday and Friday last week after teachers voted to go on strike.

The Bellingham Herald reports that both district Superintendent Linda Quinn and Ferndale Education Association President Tracie Morris say they think the agreement is fair.

The newspaper says the district made concessions on health care and teacher preparation time, while the union accepted a district pay offer.
