FALL CITY, Wash. -- Fire investigators in Fall City have determined an overnight house fire was caused by arson.
The fire started around 3:30 a.m. at an unoccupied house in the 4300 block of 334th Place Southeast. Fire crews managed to put out the fire, but the home sustained damage.
King County sheriff's deputies called the fire suspicious after receiving reports some young adults or kids were overhead saying "just do it, just do it."
The Fall City fire chief said the fire started in a shed in the back of the house and quickly spread to the home, which raised their suspicions because the gas had been turned off. Investigators later found evidence in the back of the house that someone most likely set this fire.
The home owner's sister, Judy Olson, was notified and rushed over to see the place on fire.
"Oh my God, oh my God. What am I going to tell my brother. I didn't know what to expect to see when I came out here," said Olson.
She said the place has been rental home for a while. The renters moved out a couple weeks ago, so the home has been completely empty.
No one was hurt. Firefighters were able to contain and knock down the fire before it could spread inside the house.
Early estimates of the destroyed shed stand at $15,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
King County fire investigators have posted arson reward signs around the house which offer $10,000 for information and conviction of the suspect or suspects in this arson case. Fire officials say they are developing leads and suspects and will continue to interview neighbors.
