SPOKANE, Wash.—Police caught two people accused of breaking into student’s rooms on the Gonzaga University campus.

A total of 14 different Gonzaga students had their individual rooms burglarized and property stolen during one of the burglaries.

On Monday, officers said they had recovered two stolen cars and thousands of dollars in property stolen in Gonzaga University area burglaries. Both people were booked into jail for the thefts. Police arrested 47-year-old Sean Mcatter for Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle and 48-year-old James Meyer for six counts of Identity Theft and Second Degree Possession of Stolen Property.

An Infiniti and a Suburban had been stolen. Officers linked the cars to an apartment at 911 E. Indiana where they arrested Mcatter and recovered a large amount of clothes, shoes, jewelry and bags stolen during burglaries.

Officers obtained a search warrant for Mcatter’s camper at another location and recovered more stolen items. Those included a television, DVD players, refrigerator, clothing and other person items stolen.

Officers followed up on a vehicle prowling in a separate incident where stolen credit cards had been used to purchase gas at multiple locations. Meyer was found and arrested.

Police expect more arrests to be forthcoming after detectives process property and contact more victims.
