Cookies from mom can make any trip abroad better for sons and daughters, especially if they are serving in a war zone.

Jim Stiles of Sultan, Wash., a regular photo contributor to the KING 5 News Facebook page, shared the attached photo on Friday. That’s his son, Staff Sergeant Jeff Stiles, who is a U.S. Marine serving in Afghanistan.

In one hand, Jeff is holding some chocolate chip cookies his mother baked. In the other is a sign that says “Thanks, Mom!”

Mom actually baked 12 dozen cookies so that Jeff could share them with his buddies.

Many people commented on Facebook, saying the photo made their day and thanking Jeff for his service.
