KALISPELL, Mont. -- Authorities in Montana caught and arrested the man wanted for a homicide in Elk, Washington.
Kalispell police caught Matthew Swancara, 24, on Monday afternoon. Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s deputies began looking for Swancara overnight. Authorities believe Swancara stabbed his mother to death.
Authorities found Sally Swancara’s body just before 9:00 p.m. Sunday. Deputies were responding to a domestic violence assault at a home on Juanita Lane in Elk. They arrived and found the 56-year-old woman dead from a stab wound.
Deputies say the suspect was gone by the time they go there.
