SPOKANE -- A 20-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the head during a party on Wednesday night. The woman was shot around 11:30 p.m. at a home along Newark Road.
Police spent Thursday morning searching the crime scene. Officers said the victim is hospitalized in critical condition.
Officers ruled the shooting accidental after interviewing witnesses and the suspected shooter. Witnesses told investigators that a 20-year-old man was in the kitchen showing a gun to a friend. The gun fired and hit a nearby woman in the head. People at the party said the victim and the suspected shooter are friends.
No arrests have been made.
