We're still a day away from winter, but Mother Nature grew impatient.
Snow hit Eastern Washington and North Idaho with a fury overnight.
Slick road conditions led to slideoffs and other wrecks during the morning commute. Snowfall trailed off as the morning continued.
The City of Spokane said crews are continuing their snow removal process until the roads are clear. They'll plow arterials to get the snow cleaned off before more falls. Plows will especially target the upper South Hill and the far north side of the city.
Washington drivers can also call 511. WSDOT’s driver information phone line provides real-time traffic, incident and closure information. Out-of-state callers can dial 1-800-695-ROAD (7623). TTY users can call 1-800-833-6388.
