Redmond Police, with the help of a K-9 named Vader, say they have arrested two people suspected of breaking into cars, stealing the registration and then ransacking homes while the owners were out at the movies or shopping.
Since March, car prowlers named the “movie bandits” were breaking into cars parked at movie theaters and shopping centers. The crooks would take the registration and then immediately head to the owner’s home, knowing the owner would not be there.
Police say they went to arrest a 36-year-old Bothell woman on August 1st for rendering criminal assistance. They also spotted a 31-year-old man who tried to run away. He was tracked down and captured by Vader.
The two are suspected in 27 residential burglaries, four commercial burglaries, four attempted burglaries, 17 vehicle prowls, eight vehicle thefts and one case of fraud. More cases are under investigation.
Redmond police did not say what ultimately led them to the suspects. Their names have not been released.
